The modern classroom consists of diverse learners such as gifted students, neurodiverse learners, and students with special needs which requires educators to be more vigilant and instrumental to deal with the diverse environment by promoting inclusivity to make it sure that every child matters. The Universal Design for Learners has been introduced with the purpose of providing the students with special needs the opportunity to experience more productive learning through multiple means of engagement, representation and multiple means of action and expression using technology. Being educators we have a responsibility to be well trained to deliver learning experience to diverse classrooms and also adapt to various teaching strategies such as using sensory equipment, visual aids and hands on activities. And sometimes it is important to design  lesson plans in different levels since students’ learning capacities are diverse to each other. Applying Social and Emotional Learning strategies are highly essential since they help to inculcate positive attitudes, compassion, empathy and self awareness so that in the classroom students welcome diversity with respect. Mindfulness practices also help to employ support for students suffering from traumatic conditions in the classroom and SEL helps to promote inclusivity by naturing physical and mental wellbeing of the students.

when creating safer and affirming environment for LGBTQ  students, educators should have a sound and thorough understanding of  diverse sexual identities in order to cater the physical and mental situations of individuals regarding their gender identities and at the same time implementing policies to discourage bullying and harassments among colleagues by raising awareness about the biological factors that determine the sexual orientation. Also it is important to enhance inclusivity by including LGBTQ related content into curriculum through the subjects like history, science and literature. Open communication eliminate misunderstandings and provide a platform for better understanding. Therefore, educators have a vital part in employing diverse strategies to create more inclusive classroom for students to ensure that each student is safe and secured.

  2. By reading your words, I feel that modern society really demands a lot from teachers. Becoming a qualified teacher requires an extremely high level of literacy. Teachers need to acquire a wide range of skills as well as keep themselves physically and mentally healthy. The Government and society should give more support to the teaching group.
    The mindfulness practices and the Universal Design for Learners are great strategies to promote inclusivity. The LGBTQ community is a topic that society can’t avoid these days. I believe that the rights of LGBTQ students are based on basic human rights. All students should be treated with respect at school, whether they are LGBTQ students, students with special needs or regular students.
